Jan 26, 2005 Backyard Party Sheds – A New Purpose For Your Backyard Shed
I recently introduced to the world of backyard party sheds. I realized that I had discovered a whole new world when a friend invited me over for a birthday party. Naturally, I assumed the party would be held in her house, the way parties usually are. I pictured the food laid out on the table, people mingling in the living room and kitchen and even picked out my outfit based on the assumption that I would need to take my shoes off. Well, imagine my surprise when I arrived for the party, only to be led into her backyard and out into a building in her garden! Turns out that my girlfriend had discovered the new trend of partying in a backyard party shed and had had it built just in time for the party. An outdoor party shed, I soon discovered, can be similar to your ordinary shed (yes, the one you store your tools and equipment in!) Party sheds of course, need to be more decorative and likely should not be made of metal or plastic. Mostly, they’re outdoor buildings made from wood and designed to look like little houses or cottages. Many people build them as extensions of their patio so that they can hook their party shed into the electrical and heating outlets from their home. Others prefer to use a gazebo as their back yard party place. Gazebos are not as functional as the house-like sheds, as they’re not totally enclosed and can only be used during the summer months. No matter which one you choose, they’re a wonderful addition to your home and can certainly add charm and elegance to your yard. What’s more, you can be as creative and fun as you like! Adding lighting, walkways, decorative signs and flowers, will enhance the look of your party shed and make it an entertaining and amusing place for your guests to visit. You can decorate the inside with pictures, wall hangings, a mini-bar, interesting stools and tables and create your own little martini lounge or beer-pub right in your yard! Is A Party Shed Right For You?Installing a party shed outside you home is a creative and fun way to entertain your guests (not to mention keep your house clean!) Just think, you’d never have to worry about red wine stains or coffee spills on your lovely carpet! However, keep in mind that you need enough space in your yard to accommodate one of these buildings. Consider how many people you usually entertain and remember that your party shed will need lighting, heating, electrical outlets and perhaps even a sink and a spare fridge! It’s the type of new home-addition that needs to be planned out ahead of time and really thought through. Have a contractor visit your home and discuss all the details prior to purchasing any materials or starting to build. The party garden shed was a new wonder to me. I was pleasantly surprised and definitely enjoyed myself at the birthday party. Think this might be a good option for you? Check out the ideas online and start planning your next party!!
