Sailboat Weathervanes – Show Off The Wind In Your Sails

Sailboat weathervanes are a great way to decorate your home, while also showing off one of your favorite passions in life. Show your neighbors what you’re passionate about; show off the wind in your sails!

Are you a sailor at heart? Do you have a sailboat, or simply have a passion for them? Do you make model sailboats and display them in your home? Or are you just a boat fan? Do you love all types of boats, from sail boats to yachts? If you’ve answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then I think it’s time you considered erecting a sailboat weathervane.

Weathervanes have been around for years and years and have always been a popular home ornament. They’re sometimes referred to as weathercocks, or a wind instrument, but whatever you call them, they’re all used for the same purpose. Nowadays, most people put them on their houses or backyard sheds as decoration, but they are also used to tell wind direction and weather.

In fact, their historical purpose was to inform people which direction the wind was coming from. Of course, regardless of how you choose to use your weathervane, it will still look gorgeous on your home or in your yard.

How To Choose A Weather Vane

Choosing the right weather vane for you is very easy. First, you’ll want to choose one that reflects your passion in life. For you boaters, one with a sailboat or a yacht is ideal! The weathercock designs of boats are endless and you can find them in all shapes and sizes. Of course, if boats aren’t your thing, you will undoubtedly be able to find other weather vanes to suit your style. Aside from that, you’ll just have to choose the size and material of your weathervane.

Vanes are usually made from steel, brass, copper or metal and come in a variety of sizes (choose one that’s appropriately sized for the building you’ll be placing it on.) Weathervanes can also be painted in an assortment of colors or made to look antique and weather-worn. Simply pick one that matches the color and look of the building on which you‘ll be placing it and one that matches your style.

Check out the assortment of weathervanes online or in your local specialty stores. Whether you’re a fan of sailboats and yachts or anything else, you’ll surely find a weather vane to reflect you and your passion in life.
