Garden Flag – A Neighbor’s Subtle Reminder

I’ve never really been a fan of displaying a garden flag off of one’s home. Maybe it’s because when I was living at home, I would have to endure the look of the Italian flag (the size of a living room) hanging off our front balcony anytime World Cup Soccer was on. Friends and neighbors always knew it was time for the World Cup because that gigantic flag would take its place at the front of the house where it could be seen from blocks away!

Once I married and moved out on my own, I started to look at the homes around me for garden and decorating ideas. One particular house happened to catch my eye, but it was not because of its garden. This house had a flag hanging off the side of it, attached with a pretty rod to the side of the roof. The flag fairy had followed me. There was something different about this flag, however. Unlike 'other' garden flags, it wasn’t an overbearing size, nor was it a display of patriotism. Instead, this flag was communicating something altogether different and I found myself looking to see what it would tell me on a monthly basis..

My neighbor’s decorative flags are really pretty. They tell me when it’s fall, winter, spring and summer. They also remind me of holidays such as Thanksgiving, or Easter and I always get a sense of warmth and comfort when I look at them. Yes, my neighbor’s banners are far more than just pieces of material hanging from the side of a house. They are a sign of welcome and a reminder of days gone by.

Banners – Adding A Touch Of Love To Your Garden

A garden banner doesn’t necessarily have to hang off your house. It can be placed anywhere where you think it might be enjoyed, or where it will add some extra beauty. There are a variety of different holders and mounts for flags; therefore, you have a lot of flexibility as to where you choose to display your particular banner.

Oftentimes, flags can be found in gardens as a way to add texture, detail, and color. There are hundreds of flags available and all of them come in different prints, sizes, and prices. You can choose anything from an animal print to an inspirational saying, and you won’t have to worry about it fading or discoloring because a good flag will be made with materials specially formulated to withstand all weather conditions.

If you want to add a little something extra to your garden, or backyard, consider outdoor decorative flags. With all the variety that is available, you will be sure to find something appropriate and that you can enjoy for many years to come.
